Information the app handles

The app retrieves a public Signalwatch news feed and opens links at original publishers. Those network requests necessarily expose routine connection data, such as an IP address and device/browser information, to the hosting provider and to any publisher you choose to open.

Evidence submissions

If you choose to use the Subscriber Evidence Desk, Signalwatch collects the observation details you provide, including the general location, date, conditions, witness count, description, interpretation, and attached photo or video. A name is optional. An email is required unless you choose anonymous submission; anonymous submissions do not store a name or email address. Submitted records and media are stored in a private review queue and are not automatically published.

Please do not submit exact home addresses, children's identifying information, private conversations, faces, license plates, or other people's personal information unless you have clear permission.

Private field log

Field-log entries are stored locally on your device. Signalwatch does not upload those entries. You control any file you export. Removing the app or clearing its storage may erase local entries; operating-system backups may include local app storage depending on your device settings.

Permissions

The app does not request continuous or precise location, contacts, microphone, camera, or advertising-tracking permission. You choose a specific photo or video only when you intentionally attach it to an evidence submission.

Children

Signalwatch is a general-audience news and observation product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app.

Retention and deletion

Because field notes remain on your device, you can delete individual entries in the app or remove all app storage through your device settings. Evidence submissions are retained while they are pending or under review and may be removed when no longer needed. Keep the reference number shown after submitting if you may want to request deletion through the Signalwatch support channel.
